چکیده مقاله:

One in ۱۵۰ newborns is infected with human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), a member of the betaherpesvirus family, which is the most common cause of congenital infection globally and a major cause of illness in transplant recipients and people with compromised immune systems. HCMV can cause severe and long-lasting neurological issues, such as microcephaly, sensorineural hearing loss, and cognitive difficulties. This review emphasizes the ability of emerging technologies, particularly mRNA-based vaccines, to accelerate the development of safe and effective vaccines specifically designed to combat HCMV. The development of a vaccine to reduce the incidence and severity of neonatal infections has become a critical public health goal due to toxicity, drug interactions, and the emergence of resistance. Given its substantial impact on HCMV-related illness, mortality, and healthcare costs, stimulating a strong immune response against HCMV presents considerable promise
