چکیده مقاله:
Bacillus velezensis is a Gram-positive bacterium known for its ability to produce a wide range of antimicrobial metabolites. This review summarizes current knowledge on the major bioactive compounds produced by B. velezensis, including lipopeptides (fengycin, surfactin, iturin A), polyketides (bacillaene, difficidin, macrolactin), and the circular bacteriocin velezin. Several studies demonstrate efficacy against Agrobacterium species causing crown gall disease, through both direct antagonism and induced systemic resistance. Surfactin shows potential for liposome-based drug delivery due to its amphiphilic properties and immunomodulatory activity. This review suggests that B. velezensis has potential as a source of novel therapeutic agents with applications in agriculture and drug delivery. However, further research is needed before clinical applications can be recommended.
