چکیده مقاله:

The accelerating urgency of climate change and the need for resilient urban transformation have catalyzed the emergence of the ۱۵-Minute City (۱۵MC) as a strategic framework for sustainable urbanism. Drawing upon fifteen scholarly sources, this review examines the environmental sustainability dimensions of the ۱۵MC concept, including its impacts on mobility patterns, energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and public health. The findings reveal that proximity-centered planning markedly reduces dependence on private automobiles, thereby lowering urban emissions and promoting active mobility. Empirical evidence also highlights co-benefits such as improved air quality and enhanced physical and mental health due to increased walkability and green space accessibility. However, governance and equity challenges remain significant. Issues such as green gentrification and uneven resource distribution risk undermining socio-spatial justice unless countered by inclusive policy frameworks and affordable housing mandates. Methodological approaches identified include GIS-based accessibility modeling, transport demand simulations, and qualitative socio-spatial analyses, emphasizing multi-scalar governance integration. From an Anthropocene perspective, the ۱۵MC redefines urban metabolism toward localized resilience but remains limited without broader regional and circular economy strategies. Future research must strengthen empirical validation through long-term life cycle assessments, behavioral persistence studies, and equitable implementation metrics. Overall, the evidence supports the ۱۵MC as a viable pathway toward environmental sustainability, provided that proximity planning is accompanied by just governance and systemic integration across spatial scales.
