چکیده مقاله:
Numerical simulation applications have expanded significantly in the ۲۱st century. With advances in computer hardware, the capability to investigate complex models has become increasingly feasible. In this study, a comprehensive full-scale three-dimensional numerical simulation of the combustion chamber of a ۳۲۵ MW boiler was performed, considering detailed geometric and operational features. Due to the high levels of NOx emissions reported during the operation of the Shazand Power Plant, numerical simulations were conducted to analyze fluid flow, combustion, and heat transfer processes, and to propose practical strategies for improving combustion performance, enhancing combustion uniformity among all burners, and reducing NOx emissions. Following an accurate simulation of the flow and combustion fields, the key factors contributing to poor combustion performance were identified, and feasible operational modifications were suggested. The simulation results indicate that the equivalence ratio and in particular, the distribution of air among the primary, secondary, and tertiary passages of each burner has a significant influence on combustion behavior and NOx formation. Considering these findings and the operational constraints of the power plant, optimal scenarios for NOx reduction were identified. This project was carried out in cooperation with the Shazand Power Plant. All input data required for the simulations were obtained from actual operational measurements, and the numerical results were validated against plant data. The agreement between simulation predictions and operational data confirms the accuracy of the numerical model. In addition, the simulations accurately captured the trends of furnace exit temperature and NOx emission variations under different operating conditions.
