The industrial sector is one of the largest consumers of energy and contributors to global carbon emissions, accounting for approximately ۲۱% of anthropogenic CO۲ emissions. Solar energy has emerged as a transformative solution for improving energy efficiency and sustainability in industrial applications. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of solar energy utilization in industries, examining both photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies for industrial process heating, manufacturing operations, and power generation. Through a systematic review of recent literature and case studies, this paper evaluates the technical feasibility, economic viability, and environmental impact of solar energy integration in various industrial subsectors. The findings indicate that solar energy can significantly reduce industrial fossil fuel dependence, with systems achieving payback periods of ۵.۷ to ۱۱.۹ years and carbon reductions of up to ۵۶.۵% in commercial and industrial buildings. Furthermore, concentrated solar energy enables high-temperature industrial processes exceeding ۲۰۰۰°C for materials processing and metallurgy. Despite challenges including high initial costs and technological efficiency limitations, advancements in bifacial panels, tandem perovskite-silicon cells (achieving ۳۰% efficiency), and lightweight modules are accelerating industrial adoption. This paper concludes with strategic recommendations for policy support, technological innovation, and implementation frameworks to maximize solar energy's contribution to industrial decarbonization.
