چکیده مقاله:

This study examines the way Iranian high school students regulate their own learning in English as foreign language (EFL) learners. We used a self-report questionnaire, and explored the types and frequency of self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies used by them. The most common strategies used by students included "setting clear learning goals, reviewing materials multiple times, and managing time effectively". However, creative strategies such as "using visuals or color-coding" were less frequently utilized. The findings of this research indicated that students often used SRL strategies in combination, showing a tendency for these habits to cluster. Despite the fact that this study did not focus on comparing groups or predicting academic performance, some correlations were identified that include valuable insights into students' approaches to studying. These insights may help teachers support students better in developing independent and efficient learning practices.
