چکیده مقاله:

The rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria has intensified the search for sustainable alternatives to conventional antimicrobial agents. Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using microorganisms has attracted increasing attention as an environmentally friendly approach that combines efficient nanoparticle production with reduced environmental impact. In the present study, a metal-resistant bacterial strain isolated from a gold mine environment was investigated for its ability to biosynthesize silver nanoparticles through a biological process. The bacterial isolate was identified using conventional microbiological characterization and molecular analysis based on the ۱۶S rRNA gene. Extracellular biosynthesis of AgNPs was performed using the bacterial cell-free supernatant as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. Nanoparticle formation was confirmed using complementary physicochemical characterization techniques. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibited predominantly spherical morphology with an average particle size of approximately ۲۸ nm. Their antibacterial activity was subsequently evaluated against representative Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and multidrug-resistant bacterial isolates using standard microbiological assays. The biosynthesized AgNPs demonstrated promising antibacterial activity, highlighting their potential as sustainable antimicrobial nanomaterials. Overall, the findings suggest that metal-resistant bacteria inhabiting mining environments represent valuable biological resources for the eco-friendly production of functional silver nanoparticles. This approach integrates microbial biotechnology with nanotechnology and provides a promising platform for future biomedical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological applications
