چکیده مقاله:

In the last century, rapid urbanization and industrial development have resulted in soil contamination, posing a serious environmental hazard that requires long-term remediation efforts to overcome. The use of Nanomaterials (NMs) and plant-based remediation techniques can help reduce the number of organic pollutants and heavy metals in polluted soils through nano-enhanced phytoremediation. A phytoremediation process has been enhanced using NMs that enhance the adsorption, reduction, and degradation processes. These NMs include Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs), Magnetic Nanoparticles (NPs), and Nano Zero-Valent Iron (nZVI). Some of the benefits of these materials are their strong reactivity, their larger surface area, and their specific ability to target specific pollutants. It aims at explaining the mechanics of nano- phytoremediation, how plants interact with nanoparticles, as well as the implications for the environment and regulation that relate to nano-phytoremediation. To be able to produce environmentally friendly and cost-effective soil remediation solutions in the future, it is necessary to continue researching in this field to develop safer, more effective NMs.
