چکیده مقاله:

In the contemporary architectural landscape, buildings are often constructed without regard for local climate conditions or vernacular materials, relying instead on standardized steel and concrete frameworks. While this approach ensures structural uniformity, it contributes significantly to environmental degradation and often disregards regional architectural heritage. Low-Tech architecture presents a sustainable alternative, offering construction strategies that utilize indigenous materials and simplified building techniques to reduce ecological impact while ensuring broader accessibility. Traditionally, Low-Tech architecture has been associated with primitive natural building techniques, such as straw, clay, and earth-based construction. However, these methods often replicate pre-industrial practices without incorporating advancements in material science and digital fabrication. This study proposes a reconceptualized approach to Low-Tech architecture-one that integrates modern computational tools, programmable materials, and responsive design strategies while maintaining its core principles of sustainability and accessibility. To illustrate this approach, the research introduces a beyond high-tech kinetic canopy that responds to environmental stimuli through embedded material intelligence, rather than relying on electromechanical systems. By leveraging hygroscopic wood properties and computational design methodologies, this structure synchronizes with solar movement to provide dynamic shading solutions, redefining Low-Tech architecture as an adaptive, technology-informed discipline.
