Urban Management and Civic Culture

This study examines the critical relationship between urban management strategies and civic culture development in creating sustainable cities. The research aims to identify effective approaches that integrate cultural values into urban governance while addressing contemporary challenges of rapid urbanization. Using a mixed-methods approach combining case study analysis of five global cities with survey data from ۱,۲۰۰ urban residents, the investigation reveals three key findings: (۱) cities with strong cultural policies demonstrate ۳۵% higher citizen satisfaction rates, (۲) participatory budgeting systems improve cultural infrastructure by ۲۸%, and (۳) digital engagement platforms increase cultural participation among youth by ۴۲%. The results highlight the importance of culturally-sensitive urban planning in fostering social cohesion and sustainable development, though significant variations were observed based on socioeconomic factors. These findings contribute to ongoing debates about the role of culture in urban resilience and provide practical insights for policymakers.
