چکیده مقاله:
This study examined continuous-flow aerobic granulation and nitrogen removal in pilot-scale municipal wastewater reactors. In plug-flow reactors (PFRs), aerobic granules formed after ~۹۰ days, showing characteristics similar to sequential batch reactors (SBRs). Feast-to-famine conditions and settling velocity (Vs) selection enabled dense granules, though effluent TSS remained high. In a modified airlift loop reactor, dynamic feeding and aeration promoted microbial aggregation and granule growth from ۰.۴–۰.۶ mm to ۲–۴ mm over ۹۴ days, with low SVI (~۳۵ mL/g) and increased EPS. Granular sludge effectively removed COD, nitrified and denitrified, enriching microbes such as Zoogloea, Nitrospira, Dechloromonas, and Thauera. Reactor configuration and feeding strategy were critical for successful granulation and nitrogen removal.
