Nanocurcumin-Derived Conditioned Media from Dental Pulp Stem Cells: Synthesis, Characterization, and Antimicrobial Activity

The purpose of this research was to examine the potential antibacterial properties of a conditioned medium derived from nanocurcumin-treated dental pulp mesenchymal stem cells (DPSC). Scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to study the physicochemical properties of curcumin nanoparticles. The MTT assay was used to determine the optimal dose of nanocurcumin for treating DPSC cells. Using ROS measurements, the research investigated nanocurcumin's antioxidant effects on DPSC cells. Separated into two groups, one received nanocurcumin treatment, and the other received no treatment at all (control). Next, it was examined whether or not the DPSC cell supernatant had any antimicrobial or antifungal characteristics. The physicochemical attributes of nanocurcumin, such as its purity, shape, and nanoparticle size, were determined to be suitable in this study. Furthermore, it enhances antioxidant capabilities at the IC۵۰ concentration and is non-toxic at dosages ranging from ۰ to ۵ (μg/mL). In addition, it raises DPSCs. Based on the antibacterial results, CM-CUR-NP at different doses kills ۹۵% of Candida albicans and decreases the viability of Staphylococcus mutans. According to the study's findings, CM-CUR-NP can be effectively used in dentistry to combat both bacteria and fungi, which could lead to better overall health for individuals.
