چکیده مقاله:

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and social physical anxiety in adolescent girls who engage in regular physical activity. The present research method is a causal comparative study with an applied purpose. The statistical population was adolescents aged ۱۳ to ۱۵ years in Nowshahr city. The subjects included ۵۱ adolescent girls who engage in regular physical activity who were selected by voluntary sampling from junior high schools in Nowshahr city. In this study, the Hart Social Physical Anxiety Questionnaire and the Dennis and Vanderwaal Cognitive Flexibility Questionnaire were used. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to investigate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and social physical anxiety in adolescent girls who engage in regular physical activity. The mean and standard deviation of the data for the cognitive flexibility variable are (۶۵.۶۱ ± ۸.۵۱) and for the social physical anxiety variable (۲۷.۴۴ ± ۶.۲۵). Data analysis of ۵۱ adolescent girls who engage in regular physical activity using Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between cognitive flexibility and social physical anxiety (r = -۰.۴۳ p =.۰۰۲). This means that as the cognitive flexibility score increases, the social physical anxiety score in this group decreases significantly.
