Investigating the role of rumination on verbal memory of students in a non-clinical sample: Moderation gender

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of rumination on verbal memory in a non-clinical sample among adolescents. Gender was considered as a moderator. Methods The multiple covariance analysis and univariate analysis of variance analysis in multivariate were used to analyze data. Results: Using random sampling, ۴۰ subjects (۲۵ girls and ۱۵ boys) were selected from schools in area ۲ of Tehran. After collecting the rumination questionnaire, subjects were tested by Verbal Auditory Test (verbal memory test). Conclusion: The results showed that there was no difference in verbal memory performance between individuals. So rumination did not affect verbal memory. Also, gender does not affect the performance of individuals in verbal memory. Therefore, girls and boys have the same function in verbal memory assignments.
