چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: Gifted students have special social and emotional needs. In order to help them meet their unique needs and fulfill their potentials, their families, and specially their mothers need to get ready to confront special challenges of having a gifted child, with imagination, standards, and expectations different from mothers on non-gifted children. Methods: This study was a semi-experimental research with pre-test-post-test design and a control group. Using multiple intelligences measurements, such as Stanford-Binet's IQ, ۲۰ male high school students with an IQ of over ۱۳۰ and teachers' candidacy of their giftedness based on their performance in different areas, were selected, and their mothers were randomly assigned to the experimental and the control group. These mothers participated in the ۱۰ sessions of the Creative Interpersonal Problem Solving training program. Each session lasted for ۷۰-۹۰ minutes of the interpersonal creative problem solving workshop, and the control group did not receive any training and waited in the waiting list. In order to evaluate resiliency of participating mothers, Conner and Davidson Resilience Questionnaire (۲۰۰۳) was used. Results: Given the importance of problem solving skills for mothers and their influence on their children's lives, this study focused on studying the effectiveness of an interpersonal problem solving training program with a creative approach on resiliency in mothers of gifted high school students. Conclusion: The obtained data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance. The findings showed significant differences (p<۰.۰۵) between the experimental and the control group in resiliency. At the end, applying creative interpersonal problem solving program for improving resiliency in mothers of gifted high school students was discussed. Further discussions as well as suggestions for future research were presented.
