چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: Gliomas are the most common primary tumors in the brain, comprising ۸۱% of malignant brain tumors. Methods: The statistical population of this study was all those aged ۱۸-۵۰ years referred to the Neurosurgery ward of Tehran hospitals who were admitted for glioma surgery. A purposive sampling method was used to select ۳۰ patients (۱۹ males, ۱۱ females). Measurement of research variables was done by continuous performance test and N-Beck test. Paired t-test was used to test the research hypotheses and repeated measures analysis of variance was used to investigate the multivariate effects on the post-test. The significance level was ۰.۰۵. Data were analyzed by using SPSS ۲۵ software. Results The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of surgery on the executive functions of patients with cerebral glioma in Tehran. Conclusion: The results showed that executive functions (continuous attention and working memory) were different in patients with glioma before and after surgery, and all these functions improved at ۴۵ days postoperatively. It is suggested that neuropsychological tools be used to help understand the problems of surgery.
