چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: Nowadays, one of the most important social problems is sleep disorder that more than about ۴۰ percent of some population face it. Biofeedback as a complementary method could reduce many of its effects.
Methods: Fifty-two patients with sleep disorder divided into four groups including sham, ۴-۶, ۶-۹, and ۸-۱۲ pulse regulated breathing were considered for the intervention as volunteer candidates for the study. The average age was ۳۸.۹۶ _x۰۰۱۷_۷.۶۳ years with gender distribution ۳۱% male and ۶۹% female. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) used as a standard tool of sleep quality measurement for both groups. Abdominal breathing via chest breathing trained as biofeedback training for intervention group. Heart Rate Variability measured before and after biofeedback training. Data was checked for outliers and normal distribution. Data analysis done with the Stat sigma plot version ۱۴ and SPSS version ۲۲.
Results: Trying to show the effects of biofeedback on promotion the sleep quality and control sleep disorder impacts has been done in this study.
Conclusion: Significant difference was shown between two groups. Two-way ANOVA showed a promotion of sleep quality. Variables such as the level of individual and family education, family income, and affective family environments, which can affect the dependent variables along with the experimental ones were not controlled, and this can be considered a limitation of the study.
