چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: For investigate about The nature of linguistic understanding experience, in the first stage we ask about auditory experience content; does our auditory experience of linguistic sound in the language we familiar with that contain meaning or semantic features? Some philosopher are called Liberal, believe our auditory perceptual experience contains high-level properties like meaning. There are two important criticisms of liberalism view: first, the argument from homophones and Second, the argument from context view. In this paper, we make answers to defend of hearing meaning. For first criticism, we try to show that language user have different phenomenal experience when she hears homophone words in various context. For the second criticism, we try to illustrate the opponent cannot explain to publicity of meaning, in addition, the top-down process can provide an answer for this criticism. In the second stage we ask about the nature of linguistic understanding. There are two main approaches that show how we understand a bit of language. The both of these approaches hold role of linguistic competence and the background knowledge of world in the grasping of the meaning of linguistic phrase. Some philosophers believe that conflict between these two approaches is about how we access to linguistic competence and the background knowledge of world. The first view -called epistemic or inferential view- believes that we have inferential access to linguistic competence, and the second view -called perceptual view- believes that we have psychological access. In this research, we are going to discussion about this issue. I will argue that the result of inferential access to linguistic competence that the epistemic approach holds that, make a simple relationship between linguistic performance and competence and ignores the complexities of linguistic performance. Therefore, the inferential view with such as simplification that isn't plausible solution has been able to solve the access problem to linguistic competence.
