چکیده مقاله:
Soil contamination is becoming a major problem. Given ongoing concerns about the effectiveness of bioremediation techniques, there is a clear need to improve and strengthen these processes. One innovative approach is the combined application of bacterial bioaugmentation and vermiremediation. Earthworms, by their bioturbation activity, can affect the fate of pollutants and may change the distribution and degradation of soil pollutants. The earthworm gut is regarded as a temporary habitat for bacteria originating from aerated soils. As soil passes through the gut, its unique microenvironment selectively stimulates specific subsets of the ingested microbial community, varying across earthworm species and habitats. Recent studies regarded this issue is investigated through this study and practical concerns was mentioned.
