چکیده مقاله:
Nutrition is one of the main factors affecting aquaculture, and proper attention to feed formulation can play a significant role in increasing production, improving growth performance of aquatic animals, and reducing costs. On the other hand, due to the limitations of natural resources, it is essential to utilize scientific approaches in aquafeed formulation by incorporating agricultural by-products and wastes alongside conventional feed ingredients. Approximately ۱۹% of total global date production is attributed to Iran, and during cultivation and processing in farms or manufacturing facilities, a considerable amount of waste is generated. Date waste has the potential to be used as feed for livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals. Date by-products can also be utilized in the production of fermented products (such as vinegar) and non-fermented products (such as date syrup) to generate value-added products. Moreover, these wastes contain high levels of nutrients which, after appropriate processing and treatment, can be incorporated into aquafeed formulations. The aim of this review study is to evaluate the effects of adding date waste powder to aquatic animal diets, with the objective of proposing strategies to improve the utilization of agricultural wastes, enhance the nutritional value of aquafeeds, and reduce the production costs of feed ingredients.
