Antecedents and Consequences of Knowledge Management in Knowledge-Based Enterprises: Proposing a Hierarchical Model through Thematic Analysis

چکیده مقاله:

The present study aims to identify and categorize the antecedents and consequences of knowledge management in knowledge-based companies and to propose an integrated hierarchical model. This research is a review study employing a thematic analysis approach. The statistical population consisted of domestic studies related to knowledge management and knowledge-based companies. After searching reputable databases and applying quality criteria, ۴۹ studies were selected as the final sample and coded. Due to internet disruptions during the research period, no recent English articles were used.Thematic analysis led to the extraction of ۲۵ basic themes, ۶ organizing themes, and ۲ global themes (antecedents and consequences). The antecedents of knowledge management were classified into three categories: (۱) leadership and managerial factors (including management support, transformational leadership, and knowledge vision); (۲) structural, cultural, and human factors (knowledge-sharing culture, social capital, and continuous training); and (۳) technological, environmental, and infrastructural factors (information technology infrastructure, digital governance, and environmental dynamics). The consequences were also classified into three categories: (۱) innovation (open innovation, ambidexterity, and dual innovation); (۲) organizational performance and productivity (financial performance and information economy development); and (۳) competitive advantage, sustainability, and transformation (sustainable competitive advantage, organizational sustainability, and absorptive capacity).The results indicate that knowledge management in knowledge-based companies is an indirect strategic resource that leads to desirable outcomes primarily through variables such as open innovation and ambidexterity. The proposed model can serve as a roadmap for prioritizing knowledge management investments in Iranian companies.
