Polyaniline-AC and Polyaniline-Fe-AC Composites were synthesized and FTIR testing verified the accuracy of their synthesis. ۱ g of each adsorbent was applied for the adsorption of Congo Red (CR) from ۱۰۰ mL of a solution with an initial concentration of ۵۰ mg/L in a fixed-bed column recirculation (FBCR) system. Results showed that after ۲ h, the removal percentage and the adsorption capacity for AC, Polyaniline-AC and Polyaniline-Fe-AC were ۸.۲, ۲۳.۶ and ۳۳.۲% and ۰.۴, ۱.۲ and ۱.۶ mg/g respectively. The adsorption mechanisms were illustrated as intermolecular interactions, interactions between different functional groups and degradation of CR by Fe.
