چکیده مقاله:

Antibiotics are recognized as emerging pollutants in aquatic ecosystems. This study investigates the removal of the antibiotic amoxicillin from synthetic wastewater using an integrated persulfate and ultrasound process. Laboratory-scale batch experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of various parameters using experimental design through Design-Expert software. The influence of key operational parameters, including amoxicillin concentration, persulfate dosage, reaction time, ultrasound power, and pH, on amoxicillin removal efficiency was systematically assessed. Optimal conditions for each parameter were identified to maximize degradation performance. Based on the results, the optimal conditions for amoxicillin removal in this system were determined to be as follows: amoxicillin concentration of ۵۰ mg/L, persulfate concentration of ۲ mM, reaction time of ۵ minutes, ultrasound power of ۵۰ W, and pH ۱۰. Under these conditions, the removal efficiency of amoxicillin using the persulfate/ultrasound process was found to be ۳۹.۴۲%. The Design of Experiments (DOE) approach was employed using Design-Expert software for the systematic design and analysis of experiments to evaluate the effects of operational variables.
