چکیده مقاله:

Background: Organizational culture significantly influences the quality of performance in healthcare teams, particularly in high-stress environments like operating rooms. The primary objective of this study was to investigate the impact of organizational culture on the organizational commitment of surgical team members in hospitals affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences. This study aims to demonstrate how various dimensions of organizational culture can enhance employee commitment, ultimately improving service quality and patient safety. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in ۲۰۱۹ at five hospitals affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences. A stratified random sampling method was employed, with hospitals selected as clusters, and samples randomly drawn from each hospital. The sample size was determined based on an ۸۰% power test and an anticipated sample attrition rate. Data were collected using standard questionnaires: Robbins' Organizational Culture and Allen and Meyer's Organizational Commitment scales. Statistical analyses were performed using t-tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Missing data were handled using appropriate statistical methods. Results: The average age of participants was ۳۴.۳۷ years, with ۶۲.۵% being female. The results revealed a significant positive correlation between organizational culture and organizational commitment among the surgical team members (r=۰.۴۸۳, P<۰.۰۰۱). Among the various dimensions of organizational culture, "team orientation" had the most significant effect on emotional commitment (r=۰.۴۷۷, P<۰.۰۰۱). Additionally, men had higher scores for organizational culture than women (P=۰.۰۳۳), and individuals with less work experience showed higher organizational commitment (P=۰.۰۴۸). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that a positive organizational culture, particularly one focused on teamwork, can enhance organizational commitment among surgical team members, leading to improved hospital service quality and patient safety. It is recommended that hospitals focus on strengthening team collaboration, communication skills training, and fostering employee creativity to increase productivity and organizational commitment.
