چکیده مقاله:

Background: In recent years, ۳D printing technology has been considered as a transformative tool in trauma surgery and has found wide applications in various specialties, especially in orthopedic and maxillofacial surgeries. This technology allows surgeons to perform more precise preoperative planning, provide better intraoperative guidance, and customize implants based on the specific needs of patients. This systematic review reviews and synthesizes the available evidence on the applications of ۳D printing in trauma surgery. We aim to assess the accuracy, clinical impact, and cost-effectiveness of this technology and identify areas that require further research. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review, a search was conducted for English language articles published between January ۲۰۱۹ to January ۲۰۲۵ using AND and OR operators along with the keywords ۳D printing, trauma surgery, and Mesh equivalents. The search was performed across scientific databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, APA PsycNET, and Google Scholar. The inclusion criteria involved having the full text available, publication date between ۲۰۱۹ and ۲۰۲۵, focusing on clinical trials and human studies and using Rayyan software for screening. A total of ۶۴۸۳ articles matching the keyword criteria were initially identified. Following a thorough evaluation based on entry and exit criteria, ۱۶ articles were selected and included in the study. Results: The study shows that the use of ۳D printing technology in trauma surgery did not significantly reduce adverse events compared to conventional surgery. However, the technology helped improve surgical processes and allowed the production of patient-specific anatomical models, precise surgical guides, and customized implants. The results also indicated a ۱۹.۸۵% [۹۵% confidence interval] reduction in operative time, increased accuracy in fracture alignment, and improved postoperative healing. These findings highlight the need for further research to optimize the integration of ۳D printing technology into surgical protocols and to investigate its effects on adverse events. Conclusion: The use of ۳D printing in trauma surgery can be considered as an effective solution in reducing complications due to bleeding and the need for intraoperative imaging, as well as significantly reducing the duration of the operation.
