An Innovative Hybrid MCDM-DOE Approach for Ranking Pharmaceutical Firms: The Doecopras Method

This study presents a novel integration of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) and Design of Experiments (DOE)-the Doecopras method for ranking pharmaceutical firms based on key financial and operational criteria. Seven metrics, including current ratio, quick ratio, profit-to-sales ratio, total debt-to-assets ratio, operating profit growth, asset growth, and debt-to-equity ratio, were used to evaluate ۱۹ pharmaceutical companies. The Doecopras method incorporates a regression-based ranking framework that eliminates the need to recalculate scores upon the addition of new alternatives. The results, validated through a sensitivity analysis with entropy and MEREC weightings, demonstrate that the Doecopras method consistently identifies the best investment options and aligns closely with traditional MCDM methods like TOPSIS and COPRAS. This approach not only enhances decision-making efficiency but also improves capital market robustness by enabling investors to prioritize firms effectively. Limitations and future directions for expanding the method's scalability and integration with other MCDM techniques are discussed.
