چکیده مقاله:
Smart tourism, as a fundamental transformation in the travel and tourism industry, is transforming the traditional practices of this industry globally by utilizing digital technologies. Iran, with its unique cultural and historical attractions, has a high capacity to implement this model, but exploiting this potential requires identifying and strengthening key drivers. This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and using library and field resources, including studying authentic documents, interviewing experts, and analyzing international experiences. The development of digital infrastructure is considered as the cornerstone of smart tourism in Iran. The expansion of high-speed Internet networks, integrated electronic payment systems, and smart destination management platforms are considered to be the primary requirements of this transformation. In addition, the use of new technologies such as the Internet of Things for smart management of attractions, artificial intelligence for personalizing services, and augmented reality to enrich the visit experience can make Iran an attractive destination for digital tourists. One of the main challenges in this direction is the lack of specialized human resources. Training a generation of tour guides who are fluent in modern technologies and foreign languages, along with training local activists to provide smart services, requires a coherent educational plan. At the same time, creating coordination between various organizations, including the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Communications, and the private sector, seems essential for the formation of an integrated smart tourism ecosystem. The successful experience of leading countries shows that smart marketing through digital platforms and social networks plays a decisive role in attracting tourists. Designing creative campaigns to introduce Iranian attractions using virtual reality and producing attractive content can solidify Iran's image as a smart destination in the minds of international tourists. To realize this vision, it is recommended to create a suitable platform for the growth of startups active in the field of tourism technologies, develop national standards for smart services, and attract investment in infrastructure projects. Pilot implementation of these projects in historical cities such as Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd can pave the way for national expansion as successful examples. Finally, the development of smart tourism in Iran is not only an opportunity for economic growth and job creation, but also a powerful tool for introducing Iran's rich culture and civilization to the world. Achieving this goal requires national determination, targeted investment, and intelligent use of modern technologies with a local approach that is tailored to Iran's specific conditions.
