چکیده مقاله:

Iran's tourism industry is on the verge of a digital transformation. This study, by examining in-depth the capacities and obstacles to smart tourism development in Iran, analyzes indigenous solutions for utilizing new technologies in this industry. With rich cultural assets including ۳۲,۰۰۰ registered historical and natural attractions, and a share of ۳.۲% of GDP, Iran has high potential for implementing smart tourism. The findings of this study, which was conducted with a mixed qualitative-quantitative method and through interviews with ۳۰ senior managers, a survey of ۲۰۰ industry activists, and an analysis of ۷۰ authentic documents, show that integrated destination management systems can reduce operational costs by up to ۴۰%. Smart ticketing platforms also increase visitor conversion rates by ۳۵%. In the cultural dimension, augmented reality solutions extend museum visits by up to ۵۰% and improve tourist satisfaction by ۳۰%. From an environmental perspective, smart monitoring systems can prevent up to ۶۰% of damage to historical monuments. These technologies can save up to ۲۵% in resource consumption by optimizing energy consumption in hotels and residences. The most important challenges ahead include: ۱. Lack of digital infrastructure in tourist areas ۲. Lack of skilled IT manpower ۳. Resistance of some traditional sectors to change ۴. The need for significant initial investment To overcome these obstacles, the following solutions are proposed: - Developing a national strategic document for smart tourism with a ۱۴۱۰ horizon - Establishing innovation centers in the three historical cities of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd - Developing educational programs to train specialized human resources - Attracting foreign investment in the field of tourism technologies Estimates show that with the successful implementation of these plans, Iran can achieve the first position in smart tourism in the region within five years. This development is capable of increasing the tourism industry's share in GDP to ۵ percent and creating ۵۰,۰۰۰ new jobs annually. Also, the development of smart tourism can lead to a ۳۰ percent increase in the length of stay of tourists and a ۲۵ percent growth in foreign exchange earnings. The tripartite role of the government, the private sector, and scientific centers in this development is undeniable. The government must accelerate this movement by creating legal and supportive platforms, the private sector with investment and innovation, and universities with research and training specialized personnel. The successful experience of countries such as Turkey and the UAE shows that with careful planning and phased implementation, significant results can be achieved in a short period of time. Finally, it should be emphasized that the development of smart tourism in Iran is not a choice, but a necessity. This transformation can preserve the country's cultural heritage and make it an attractive destination for international tourists. Success in this direction requires national determination, targeted investment, and the use of global experiences with a local approach.
