چکیده مقاله:

The long-term performance and safety of UPVC water supply systems largely depend on the strength and integrity of the joints formed using solvent cements. In this study, the impact of solvent adhesive formulation on the fusion strength of UPVC pipe fittings was investigated with the goal of enhancing resistance to hydrostatic pressure. A series of modified formulations, including various ratios of plasticizers, stabilizers, and nanomaterials (such as nano-silica and modified nano-clay), were prepared and applied under controlled conditions. The fused samples were subjected to hydrostatic pressure testing, peel strength tests, and microscopic analysis. The results showed that optimizing the adhesive composition significantly increased the fusion strength, with the best formulation achieving a ۳۸% increase in joint strength and over a ۶۰% increase in pressure endurance time before failure compared to conventional adhesives. These findings suggest that the use of engineered adhesive formulations can significantly improve the reliability of UPVC water supply systems under harsh operational conditions.
