The impact of climate change on supply chain strategies in environmentally friendly product manufacturing industries

The article aims to analyze the challenges and adaptive strategies in the field of supply chain management for environmentally friendly product manufacturing industries by examining the effects of climate change on their supply chain strategies. Climate change, by causing disruptions such as droughts, floods, and storms, has impacted the accessibility of raw materials, production costs, demand patterns, and logistical infrastructure, compelling green industries to redesign their supply chain strategies. This research, employing a descriptive-analytical approach and drawing on documentary and library studies conducted from ۲۰۲۴ to ۲۰۲۵, examines strategies such as geographical diversification of sources, the utilization of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced sensors, and the development of low-carbon supply chains. Findings indicate that climate-smart supply chains, by utilizing real-time data and predictive analytics, enhance resilience and flexibility against climate instabilities. Green innovations such as biodegradable materials, low-carbon logistics, and the design of products resistant to variable climatic conditions create a sustainable competitive advantage while reducing environmental impacts. This study provides a comprehensive framework for aligning supply chains with sustainable development goals, emphasizing the necessity of technological integration, inter-sectoral collaboration, and strategic re-invention. These approaches not only ensure environmental sustainability but also strengthen the position of green industries in global markets, transforming them into pioneers of the green economy. Ultimately, these developments ensure the competitive and innovative survival of industries in a challenging world.
