Nature-Based Solutions in the Urban Resilience Horizon of Iran: A Systematic Review and Presentation of Localization

Cities, as the primary habitat for contemporary human life, face complex challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and rapid population growth. Under these conditions, nature-based urbanism emerges as an innovative approach inspired by natural processes and structures, offering valuable opportunities to enhance urban resilience. This approach, by incorporating green elements such as natural open spaces, green infrastructure, intelligent water resource management, and biodiversity utilization, not only improves citizens' quality of life but also strengthens the city's capacity to adapt to crises and unforeseen changes. In this article, adopting a descriptive approach based on a review of existing experiences and studies, the role and significance of nature-based urbanism in urban resilience are examined. It emphasizes that integrating urban design with natural systems is not a luxury choice but a necessity for sustainable development and a safer future for cities.
