Over the past two decades, Romania’s economy has experienced a steady growth trend through a focus on structural reforms, the expansion of trade relations, and the attraction of foreign investment.

Over the past two decades, Romania’s economy has experienced a steady growth trend through a focus on structural reforms, the expansion of trade relations, and the attraction of foreign investment. The purpose of this study is to examine the economic conditions and banking system of Romania and to analyze its role in financial development. The main research question focuses on evaluating the relationship between the stability of the banking system and economic growth. The importance of this topic lies in Romania’s membership in the European Union and its role in regional financial markets. This research adopts a descriptive–analytical approach and is based on library resources, academic articles, and official reports. The findings indicate that Romania’s banking system, relying on regulatory reforms, the presence of foreign banks, and the digitalization of financial services, has been able to achieve an appropriate level of financial stability.
