چکیده مقاله:
The residential sector is a significant contributor to global energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions. Conventional building practices often neglect environmental impacts, leading to high operational energy demands for heating, cooling, and lighting. This review article explores the pivotal role of sustainable architecture in mitigating this issue. It synthesizes existing literature to examine a wide range of strategies, from foundational passive design principles to the integration of active systems and renewable energy sources. The article analyzes key concepts including building orientation, thermal mass, natural ventilation, advanced insulation, sustainable materials, and the use of smart technologies. Furthermore, it discusses the benefits, challenges, and future directions of implementing sustainable practices in residential construction. The central thesis is that a holistic, integrated design approach is essential for creating energy-efficient homes that enhance occupant comfort while minimizing environmental impact. By adopting sustainable architectural principles, it is possible to achieve substantial reductions in energy consumption, contributing to global climate goals and promoting long-term environmental stewardship.
