چکیده مقاله:

Recently, by the development of more behavioral model, travel demandmodeling has faced a dramatic change towards microsimulation models.Shopping trips are known as the most important non- mandatory trips in theurban context. After working trips and educational trips, which are allmandatory, shopping trips has the highest share within all trip purposes. Foryears it was a debate whether to first consider the mode choice or the destinationchoice in travel demand modeling. Each paradigm has its own cons and pros. Butin reality both these models contain components that make them interrelated. Thedestination choice of each individual depends on his/her mode choice, and themode choice depends on where he/she wants to go (destination choice). Therefore, in this paper a joint modeling structure has been used that considersthis bilateral relation. The proposed modeling framework has been applied to thedata gathered during the Mashhad comprehensive transportation plan.
