چکیده مقاله:
The purpose of the present study is to investigate the level of health literacy of students at the University of Medical Sciences. The method of conducting the study is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study. The statistical population of the present study is all students at the University of Medical Sciences of Iran. ۴۰۰ people were selected as the statistical sample size using the random sampling method. The main research tool is the European Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLS-Q۱۲), the validity and reliability of which have been confirmed by expert professors. The results showed that the analysis of the five dimensions of health literacy reveals subtleties that require attention. While the “reading” dimension, with an average of ۲۷.۸۱, shows the highest level of skill, the “understanding” dimension, with an average of ۱۶.۹۱, has clearly obtained the lowest score. This gap between the ability to read texts and the ability to understand them deeply is a globally recognized pattern in which functional literacy is separated from cognitive literacy. This is especially important in the health field, where correct interpretation of instructions and understanding the implications of information are crucial.
