چکیده مقاله:

This meta-analysis synthesizes the effectiveness of responsibility-focused interventions, grounded in Choice Theory, on reducing externalizing behavioral problems in adolescents as perceived by their parents. Adolescent behavioral issues present a significant challenge for families and societies, with responsibility-based training emerging as a promising therapeutic avenue. This study quantitatively aggregates findings from recent empirical research to provide a consolidated estimate of the intervention's overall impact. A systematic literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and regional academic repositories, for studies published between ۲۰۱۸ and ۲۰۲۵. A total of ۱۲ studies, comprising ۲۸ distinct effect sizes and a cumulative sample of ۷,۴۱۱ participants, met the inclusion criteria. Using a random-effects model, the analysis revealed a moderate and statistically significant pooled effect size (Hedges' g = ۰.۴۲۹, ۹۵% CI [۰.۳۵۹, ۰.۴۹۹], p < ۰.۰۰۱). The results indicate that responsibility training is effective in mitigating adolescent behavioral problems. Subgroup analyses showed comparable efficacy across different intervention modalities, including the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model, parent-based training, and Choice Theory/Reality Therapy. Significant heterogeneity was observed (I² = ۶۵.۹%), which was partially explained by moderator variables such as country of publication. The findings provide robust, aggregated evidence supporting the implementation of responsibility-based programs as a valuable tool for parents, educators, and clinicians working with adolescents.
