Meta-Analysis of Schema Therapy’s Effectiveness on Recidivism in Offenders with Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders

This meta-analysis investigates the efficacy of Schema Therapy (ST) in reducing recidivism rates among offenders diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). A systematic search of academic databases, including Google Scholar, was conducted for studies published between ۲۰۲۰ and ۲۰۲۵. The review synthesized findings from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and systematic reviews, focusing on key outcomes such as recidivism rates, personality disorder symptoms, and risk factors for reoffending. Preliminary findings suggest that ST demonstrates a promising effect in reducing recidivism-related behaviors and improving psychological well-being in forensic populations. The article includes detailed tables and forest plots to illustrate the aggregated effect sizes and funnel plots to assess publication bias. This comprehensive review aims to provide a robust evidence base for the application of ST in forensic settings and to inform future clinical practice and research.
