The Impact of Business Intelligence and Organizational Learning on the Financial Performance of Petrochemical Companies Listed on the Iranian Stock Exchange

Objective: The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of business intelligence (BI) and organizational learning (OL) on the financial performance of companies operating in the petrochemical industry and listed on the Iranian stock exchange. This topic holds particular significance given the growing importance of enhancing corporate performance and the crucial role of managerial factors and human capital in facilitating sound decision-making by managers and investors. Methodology: In this study, a questionnaire was initially designed and developed based on the research literature. After assessing its validity and reliability, it was distributed among managers of ۲۵ petrochemical companies listed on the Iranian stock exchange. The collected data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. Findings: The results of the data analysis indicated that all questions related to the variables possessed high reliability, and no irrelevant questions were included. The findings revealed that organizational learning has a positive and significant impact on business intelligence. Furthermore, both organizational learning (with a regression coefficient of ۰.۸۴۷) and business intelligence (with a regression coefficient of ۰.۷۴۷) were found to have a significant and positive effect on the financial performance of the petrochemical companies. Conclusion: Given the importance of corporate performance in a competitive environment and the significant role of management-based and human capital factors, it is recommended to enhance business intelligence by implementing intelligent dashboards (such as dashboards for customers, services, business process management, organizational project management, human resources, and information technology). This facilitates access to key business information and provides a quicker visual understanding of the organization's status. Furthermore, emphasizing the development of organizational learning and fostering innovation among employees and managers, as influential factors, can lead to improvements in the financial performance of petrochemical companies and contribute to achieving organizational excellence.
