چکیده مقاله:
This qualitative study aimed to explore and analyze the attitudes and perceptions of faculty members in teacher education programs regarding the facilitators and barriers to conducting research at teacher training universities in Iran. To achieve this objective, twelve faculty members were purposively selected and interviewed using semi-structured interview protocols. The collected data were subjected to thematic analysis. The analysis revealed two primary themes and five subthemes. The first theme, "Personal Factors Influencing Faculty Research Engagement," comprised two subthemes: "Personal Knowledge and Competencies" and "Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation." The second theme, "Structural Factors Affecting Faculty Research Participation," included three subthemes: "Financial Support and Promotion," "Slow Internet and Filtering," and "Publication Policies." The findings can inform future research efforts, encouraging reanalysis and efforts to address identified limitations—such as contextual differences across countries—to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing faculty research engagement in diverse settings.
