3D Analysis of Intake Basins Structure

Intake Basins for taking water from sea for firefighting water supply, providing potable water, cooling of refineries and huge industrial facilities have been constructed in shore approach.These basins have different filtration systems, and according to type of filtration system and amount of input water, these structures have different shape and size. Until now some types of these basins have been designed and constructed in Iran, such as Mobin refinery sea waterintake, Ghadir refinery sea water intake and Persian Gulf Star Oil Company (PGSOC) sea water intake.This article has been reviewed the criteria that must be considered in three-dimensional analysis and design of intake basin structures with describe experiences of PGSOC intake’s threedimensional structural analysis.
