چکیده مقاله:

Urban buildings account for a substantial portion of global energy consumption, making thermal insulation a critical component in achieving energy efficiency and sustainability goals. This manuscript examines the multifaceted role of thermal insulation in reducing energy consumption within urban building contexts, with particular emphasis on sustainable design principles. Through comprehensive analysis of recent research, this study explores various insulation materials, their performance characteristics, and integration strategies within sustainable building frameworks. The investigation reveals that optimized thermal insulation can reduce annual energy consumption by up to ۲۵.۸% in cooling-dominated climates and achieve lifecycle cost savings exceeding ۶۰% when combined with complementary measures. Key findings demonstrate that insulation effectiveness varies significantly across climate zones and HVAC system configurations, necessitating context-specific optimization approaches. The research synthesizes evidence on conventional, bio-based, and emerging insulation technologies, highlighting the importance of multi-criteria decision frameworks that balance energy performance, economic viability, and environmental impact. Results indicate that integrated strategies combining thermal insulation with cool roofs, green infrastructure, and efficient HVAC systems yield synergistic benefits exceeding individual measure contributions. This manuscript provides actionable insights for architects, engineers, and policymakers seeking to enhance urban building energy performance through evidence-based insulation strategies within sustainable design paradigms.
