چکیده مقاله:
Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common finding in older dogs and cats. CKD affects approximately ۰.۵–۱.۰% of dogs and ۱.۰–۳.۰% of cats, with a significantly higher incidence in the geriatric population, reaching as high as ۸۰% in cats In advanced stages of kidney disease, the prognosis is often poor Methods: This literature review aimed to identify and synthesize recent advances in the detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in veterinary medicine, with a specific focus on biomarker-based diagnostics. Results and Conclsion: Hongsha Yang and colleagues published their research findings in ۲۰۲۵.A number of promising biomarkers have been identified across a variety of biological processes in recent years. Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), kidney injury molecule-۱ (KIM-۱), N-acetyl-Dglucosaminidase (NAG), and liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) are tubular injury markers. Using advanced analytical tools like LC‑MS and bioinformatics, researchers have also identified kidney‑specific biomarkers (e.g., canine clusterin and cystatin B) to establish precise assays.Combining functional markers (SDMA) with active injury biomarkers provides a complete diagnostic framework, enabling better clinical management, improved treatment, and enhanced outcomes in veterinary nephrology
