چکیده مقاله:
Reproductive and mammary tumors are also most often seen in intact females, especially as they mature because of prolonged hormonal stimulation by progesterone and estrogen. Concurrent multiple involvement of reproductive organs is rare, even though single lesions are usual. The article presents a rare case in an intact ۱۶-year-old female dog with several concurrent lesions: vaginal leiomyosarcoma, cystic endometrial hyperplasia, mixed ovarian cystic papillary adenocarcinoma with granulosa cell hyperplasia, and Grade ۱ intraductal papillary carcinoma of the mammary gland. The diagnostic evaluation employed hematology, serum biochemistry, radiography, ultrasonography, fine-needle aspiration, and histopathology. Hematologic and biochemistry findings were compatible with age-related mild alterations and renal insufficiency without remarkable systemic impairment. Imaging confirmed localized reproductive tract abnormalities without remote metastasis. Histopathology identified the type and grade of all lesions, with presence of a mix of benign and low-grade malignant neoplasms. The coexistence of these conditions at the same time is in accordance with chronic hormonal dysregulation as causative mechanism, with the principal involvement of estrogen and progesterone in proliferative lesion formation in many organs. Surgical excision made both diagnosis confirmation and therapy possible. This article stresses the multifactorial endocrine interaction responsible for tumor development in senescent intact females and underscores the utility of complete diagnostic workups in geriatric bitches presenting with reproductive tract masses. The prognosis is generally good for low-grade lesions diagnosed early and treated with surgical excision.
