چکیده مقاله:
Background: The fundic part of the abomasum acts as a key gland area in the stomach of ruminants, responsible for releasing acid along with digestive proteins. Looking at the tissue makeup here helps reveal what kinds of cells are present and what they secrete. Instead of guessing, researchers checked how the lining reacts chemically in that zone among normal grown local goats. Methods: Tissue specimens got gathered, then fixed using ۱۰% formalin. After that, they underwent staining through H&E methods, along with PAS approaches. AB staining was also applied for further analysis. Results: The findings revealed the mucosal surface lining was made up of single-layer rectangular cells - these reacted positively to PAS but not to AB stain. Below this layer, deep within the mucosa, there were complex tube-like structures with many branches, housing mainly two kinds of cells: parietal and chief cells. Parietal cells had pinkish cytoplasm when stained, while chief cells displayed darker blue-staining cytoplasm; side by side, they formed most of what’s found in fundic glands. Near where the glands start and connect to stomach pits, a different type appeared - the mucous neck cells. These didn’t react to either PAS or AB coloring methods. Conclusion: The results show surface cells in the fundic lining release neutral mucus, but those in the neck part of the glands don’t make either neutral or acid types. Instead, they might create an alkaline version - something future tissue chemistry work should look into more closely
