Application of Machine Learning Models for Enhancement of the IoT-Based Healthcare Systems

Internet of Things (IoT) technology when combined with healthcare systems has brought tremendous improvement in the management and monitoring of patients. On the downside, the huge volume of data produced by IoT devices demands sophisticated analytical tools in order to achieve meaningful results. Hence, machine learning (ML) models have been effective and efficient tools to carry out processing and analysis of such data, thus supporting the medical fields in early diagnosis, personalized treatment and resource planning as well. The present paper discusses the use of ML models in IoT-based healthcare systems, their advantages and challenges, and future prospects.
