Sensorless Control of a Four-Switch, Three-Phase Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Drive

This paper introduces a novel and very low cost brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive. Proposed drive enjoys a four-switch inverter for a three-phase BLDC motor, without any mechanical hall sensors. This system uses the back electromotive force (Back-EMF) method. Also the Direct Current Control method is used to control of phase current in four-switch inverter. The proposed conjigziration increases reliability and reduces cost of drive signifkantly. The performance of the developed drive is demonstrated by some simulation.
