چکیده مقاله:
The aim of this study is to clarify the dangers of openly committing sins (Mujāharah bi’l-maʿṣiyah) and its negative effects on both the individual and society. It also emphasizes the importance of modesty (Hayāʾ) and concealing one’s sins and discusses the causes and consequences of openly committing sins in both this world and the Hereafter. In conducting this research, a descriptive–analytical method has been employed, and library-based sources and data have been utilized, drawing on authoritative books and reliable academic articles in this field. Following this research, it has been concluded that openly committing sins has several causes, including distancing oneself from the Qur’an and the Sunnah, the weak role of rulers and authorities in preventing immorality, the dominance of irreligious individuals over mass media, and mixed-gender education. Openly committing sins also has effects and consequences in this world and the Hereafter. Among its worldly effects are weakness of faith, moral corruption, the erosion of honor and modesty, the spread of immorality, the disintegration of family bonds, and deprivation of divine support in this world. Among its otherworldly effects are disgrace in the Hereafter and the punishment of Hellfire. Moreover, openly committing sins can be remedied through certain measures, including educating and raising awareness among Muslims based on Islamic principles, establishing the divine law and its prescribed punishments, reforming the direction of the media, and the fulfillment by scholars of their duties toward Muslim societies. The aim of this study is to clarify the dangers of openly committing sins (Mujāharah bi’l-maʿṣiyah) and its negative effects on both the individual and society.
