چکیده مقاله:

Long-term chronic inflammation in the intestinal mucosa increases the risk of colon cancer due to genetic and molecular changes. The increased risk of cancer and the use of immunosuppressive therapies affect the preventive care needs of these patients. In this research, the relationship between ulcerative colitis and cancer has been investigated. In this research, a computer search was performed in the databases of PsychINFO, Social Sciences Index, Science, MEDLINE, Scopus, Direct, Proquest and PubMed with the keywords "cancer", "ulcerative colitis" and "ulcerative colitis symptoms and complications". Articles related to this research were thoroughly reviewed and selected for this research. Identification of high-risk groups and surveillance endoscopy programs have been developed to prevent this outcome. Although our understanding of the molecular mechanisms, management, and prevention of colon cancer has made significant progress, prospective head-to-head trials of chemopreventive agents are eagerly awaited to provide stronger evidence. Therefore, further studies on the involvement of intestinal inflammation, surveillance and prevention strategies in colon cancer are needed in the future.Long-term chronic inflammation in the intestinal mucosa increases the risk of colon cancer due to genetic and molecular changes.
