چکیده مقاله:
The drilling industry is continuously evolving to balance technological advancements with environmental sustainability. As fossil fuel exploration remains essential to the global energy sector, reducing the ecological footprint of drilling operations is a pressing challenge. This study explores the integration of eco-friendly additives, specifically taro root mucilage as a green chemical, sodium alginate as a biopolymer, and graphene oxide as a nanoparticle, into drilling fluid formulations. These additives have the potential to enhance drilling efficiency by mitigating torque and drag (T&D) forces, which arise from drill string-wellbore interactions and contribute to operational inefficiencies and increased costs. Despite limited research on taro root mucilage in drilling applications, its promising rheological and lubricating properties make it a compelling alternative to conventional additives. Through controlled laboratory experiments, this study evaluates the impact of these green additives on drilling fluid performance, focusing on rheology, lubricity, and T&D reduction. The findings are expected to demonstrate the viability of sustainable drilling fluid formulations, offering improved wellbore stability, reduced friction, and enhanced operational efficiency. This research underscores the industry's commitment to eco-friendly innovations, paving the way for more sustainable and cost-effective drilling practices.
