This paper presents a new aspect for feasibility studies of wind farm in a region based on reliability indices. The actual wind speed data of an Iranian Southern Island, Kish, is employed in the modeling. At first, the study investigates the impact of wind generation in power system reliability, and then, in order to improve the calculation accuracy, daily pattern as a suggested method is used. The two most important generation reliability indices, LOLE (Loss of Load Expectation) and LOEE (Loss of Energy Expectation) are calculated in this study. In next stage, for the purpose of feasibility studies, ECGC (EquivalentConventional Generator Capacity) is utilized as a reliability index. Then, this index is calculated based on mentioned reliability indices, obtained from both Annual and Hourly patterns and finally, comparison is made. The results show the importance of reliability evaluation considering daily pattern, and confirm Kish Island is a suitable region for the wind farm installation, not only because of good condition of wind speed, but also for the coincidence of daily load profile and daily wind regime in Kish Island
